Why Lizzy Care exists

A dementia diagnosis does not have to be scary. But for most families it is, because they are left to figure it out alone.

Ollie cared for his grandmother. Sarah spent her career as a geriatric care manager. Both saw the same thing: families giving everything they had, and still feeling lost.

The problem was never love. It was that care is scattered across a dozen places. So we built the one that pulls it together.

What we believe

The principles behind everything we do.

No family should do this alone

It is the reason we started, and the heart of everything we do.

Everything in one place

One team for all of it, so you are never the one chasing a dozen providers and phone numbers.

Honest about cost

We are clear about what Medicare covers, and we help you put what you have where it matters most.

Care that gets smarter

We turn what we learn into foresight, so we can act before a crisis, not after it.

Who Is Lizzy?

Lizzy Care was named after renowned practitioner Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell. Blackwell is said to have begun practicing medicine in 1849 because she saw a need for compassionate care. She was the first woman to earn an M.D. from an American medical school and went on to co-found the New York Infirmary for Women and Children.

Dementia care support

“We know dementia care is expensive. We help make sure you’re spending money in the best way possible to get the best care possible.”

Who Are We?

Lizzy Care was founded by a team with firsthand experience caring for people with dementia. Sarah Gorenstein, a professional geriatric care manager, and Ollie Fielding, who helped care for his grandmother, teamed up with CEO Dr. Marc Rothman, a physician executive with deep experience in home- and community-based services for older adults.

Together with world-leading scientific advisors Dr. Russell Swerdlow and Dr. Richard Isaacson, the team makes sure Lizzy Care stays up to date on the latest in dementia and Alzheimer’s research.

Cofounder

Sarah co-founded Lizzy Care after a career spent providing geriatric care to aging adults. She saw so many incredible families face the same struggle: they were giving every bit of their hearts to care for moms, dads, aunts, uncles, and grandparents, but they simply didn’t have the experience to manage it all.
